Hello! I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Gina Mead, a licensed professional counselor and school counselor. I’ve spent most of my career supporting youth, teens, adults, and families as they navigate life’s tougher moments. My years as a grief counselor have shown me the healing power of community and the importance of making space for all emotions, even the painful ones.
I’ve worked in K–12 schools since 2008, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges kids face today and how meaningful it can be to have someone walk alongside them. My husband and I have raised our two children here in Douglas County, so I know firsthand the unique pressures young people in our community experience. Anxiety, perfectionism, school refusal, emotional regulation and impulse control, depression, self‑harming behaviors, friendship struggles, and executive functioning challenges are all areas where I can help.
My work centers on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I draw from evidence‑based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, mindfulness‑based interventions, Somatic therapy, and others. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I approach counseling with a human‑centered, trauma‑responsive lens. I am a neurodivergent‑affirming and identity‑affirming counselor, encouraging you to show up exactly as you are.
If you think I might be a good fit for you or your child, please reach out. We can take the next step together.
